Unlocking Forgiveness

I don’t about you but its was a little hard for me to Forgive. To ask for forgiveness is always easier then to give the same antidote we wish to received. Hello beauties, sorry for the late introductions but I figured I changed up the narrative. So I was walking around my house and thinking up my next post I wanted to share with you guys and all of a sudden Forgiveness popped up in my mind. I wanted to share my thoughts on this subject because someone out there may be going through it and finding it hard to forgive others and based off this bible plan I read it revealed the reason why. I learned from a Tyler Perry Movie in my Madea voice: (Forgiveness is not for them, its for you!) -They hold a power over you and without even knowing or wanting to admit this power do exist and will eat you up inside if it continues to go unresolved.

Did you checked out my post called *Closing out 2020*? I spoke about being more intentional with yourself and forgiveness and moving on from toxicity in your life. If your going to practice being a better individual we must practice the steps it must take to get there. Certain steps like not beating yourself up when your down, loving you more, saying sorry when your wrong, and giving forgiveness even when you can’t see pass the hurt. For some of us these steps are hard but truly is needed and I’m going to give you the forgiveness message I read and the bible prayer plan I read to help me through it.

So if you don’t have it already download the YouVersion Bible App and in there you can read daily devotionals. The name of this plan is called Forgiving What You Can’t Forget by Lysa Terkeurst, it was so good I read it twice. Besides I knew I needed it so if takes you reading it 3,4,5,6 times go right ahead because you need to unlock that freedom that will help heal you. Now I never said it washes everything away as it never happened, because that’s not true, but it will help bring some peace to what has already happen and allow you to move on without conviction. Now let me give you the verse that helped me and I also saved it in my phone to go over through tough times.

In the book forgiving what you can’t forget by Lysa Terkeurst here is the quote “Revenge is you paying twice for a hurt that someone else did to you. You may think it will make you feel better in the short term, but in the long term it will always cost you more emotionally and spiritually than you’d ever want to pay. The only thing your revenge will do is add your wrongdoings on top of theirs”. Wow that just shakes up that need inside of you to seek revenge or never offer forgiveness.

How is one way to tell your healing? When that person walks by or see a picture of them and your whole spirit and mood remain the same. Not sure what I mean? Have you ever seen the person that hurt you and all of a sudden you get angry or your entire mood changed? (Hint: That’s the power they have over you) Trust me I know! Now there are other signs and healing will look different per person but I gave you one tell sign. I hope you can find peace in this post and really set out the work needed to find that peace in you.
